What is the vacation package?

After 1 year of employment, drivers are offered a $1,000 vacation package. When combined with our quarterly performance bonus, and annual safety bonus, drivers can receive over $4,000 per year in bonuses

What pay can expected?

On average Driver’s weekly gross pay is between $1,000 and $1,200 per week if you are home daily and up to $1,500 per week if you stay out 4 nights per week.

Is direct deposit available?

Yes, in fact we prefer that you sign up for direct deposit. Paper checks are also available.

How often will I be home?

Road/Regional drivers are home every weekend. Some drivers are home every night, depending on location.

What will I be hauling?

We haul cement, ash, and limestone powder in pneumatic tanks.

Are trucks manual or automatic?

All trucks in this division are manual transmission trucks.

How long is the training period?

Training is specific to the individual being trained, and is therefore different for each new hire. We want everyone to be comfortable in all aspects of the position.

What is the average length of haul?

90 miles or approximately 2 hours.

Will I work weekends?

Drivers will generally not work on weekends.

What are the hours?

Approximate start times are between 0300 and 0500 with days ending around 1500 - 1700.

Where will I pick-up/deliver?

Pick up locations are at cement and lime plants. There are multiple plants in the Iowa/Illinois area.

Are multiple loads hauled per day?

Between 2 and 8 loads are hauled per day.

Where is the terminal located?

The terminal is located in Burlington, IA and there are multiple dedicated satellite locations.

What will I be hauling?

We haul pneumatic trailers (flour, sugar, corn flour, etc.) and liquid tankers (oil, liquid starch, etc.)

Are trucks manual or automatic?

Most of our trucks are manual transmission. Drivers should be capable of operating manual trucks.

How long is the training period?

Training is specific to the individual being trained, and is therefore different for each new hire. We want everyone to be comfortable in all aspects of the position.

What is the average length of haul?

222 loaded miles and empty on return.

Will I work weekends?

Yes, weekends are sometimes required based on business need. The manager rotates weekends among drivers, and specific dates can be requested off with proper notice. There is premium pay per load delivered on Saturday and Sunday.

What are the hours?

Hours are based on the driver's desired schedule. Some flexibility is required to meet our customer's needs.

Where will I pick-up/deliver?

There may be multiple pick-up and deliver points. Most loads originate and end in Burlington, IA.

Are multiple loads hauled per day?

Due to the long length of haul, only one load per day is hauled.

Job Details

What will I be hauling?

Customer freight including drywall, truck bodies, steel, tanks, over-dimensional freight, and more.

Are trucks manual or automatic?

Most of our trucks are manual transmission, but we do have a few automatics as well.

How long is the training period?

Training is specific to the individual being trained, and is therefore different for each new hire. We want everyone to be comfortable in all aspects of the position.

What is the average length of haul?

Around 350 miles. There are shorter and longer loads available depending on what you're hauling.

Will I work weekends?

This is up to the driver, and depending on available loads. Weekend work is not required.

What are the hours?

Most deliveries are from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM which means you normally drive during regular hours. There are a few evening deliveries for some customers.

Where will I pick-up/deliver?

Outbound loads originate from around the Burlington, IA area. Loads will deliver anywhere east of the Rockies and south of New York and primarily be in the Midwest and South/Southeast.

Are multiple loads hauled per day?

Normally just one load a day, although at times there may be multiple stops or unload and reload in the same day.
